Buying beef in bulk is a great way to stock your freezer with quality, farm-direct beef. But every household cooks differently, has different storage space and may not need a quarter, half or whole beast to themselves.
That is why we have added more flexibility to the Cadarga ordering process. You can now customise more of your beef order online and choose to have larger orders divided into separate boxes, making it much easier to share with family or friends.
Choose the amount that suits you
Cadarga Born & Bred offers quarter, half and whole beef shares, delivered fresh in family-sized portions across South East Queensland.
As a general guide, a quarter share contains approximately 46 kg of boxed beef, while a half contains around 93 kg and a whole approximately 185 kg. Exact amounts will vary between animals, but these estimates can help you decide which option best suits your household and freezer space.
If a quarter is plenty for your family, you can order it directly. If you would like the value and flexibility of ordering a half or whole but cannot use it all yourself, our new sharing options make that possible too.
Share a half or whole beef order
You can now choose to have a half or whole beef order separated into smaller portions before it is delivered.
A half can be boxed into quarters, while a whole can be divided into halves or quarters. This means you can organise an order with relatives, neighbours or friends and have each portion ready to distribute when it arrives.
There is no need to unpack every box, divide dozens of packages on the kitchen floor or start negotiating over who gets what. We take care of the split before delivery, helping everyone receive a fair share of the order.
It is an easy way for smaller households to enjoy the benefits of buying beef directly from a local Queensland farm without needing a huge freezer or committing to the full quantity alone.
Customise your cuts
Customers ordering a half or whole beast can now provide their preferred cut-up instructions during the online ordering process.
You can customise options such as steak thickness, roast sizes, sausage style and the balance between mince and sausages. Where you do not have a preference, simply leave the field blank and we will use our standard recommended selections.
This gives you greater control over what arrives in your beef boxes. If your family uses plenty of mince for weeknight meals, prefers a particular steak thickness or needs smaller roasts, you can tell us when placing your order.
Select the right packaging for your household
You can also choose between standard meal packing, custom meal packing and bulk packaging.
Our standard meal packing includes:
-
Two steaks per bag
-
Six sausages per bag
-
Mince in 500 g packs
If your household needs different portion sizes, you can request custom packing, such as four steaks per bag, 12 sausages per bag or mince in 1 kg packs.
Bulk packaging places each type of cut together in a single freezer bag, allowing you to repack the beef however you like once your delivery arrives. Bulk-packed orders also receive a saving of 50 cents per kilogram on the dressed weight price.
Quality beef, ordered your way
Our cattle are grass-fed and grass-finished on our family farm in Cadarga, Queensland. Beef is delivered fresh rather than frozen, ready for you to divide between households or place straight into the freezer.
These new ordering options are designed to make buying farm-direct beef more practical, whether you are feeding a large family, planning meals ahead or combining an order with friends.
Simply choose your delivery run and month, select a quarter, half or whole share and complete the available cut, packing and sharing preferences. Your deposit secures the order, with the remaining balance calculated once the dressed weight of your allocated beast is known.
