Frequently Asked Questions

What's the big deal about grass-fed, grass-finished beef?

Choosing grass-fed, grass-finished beef has become a popular and wise
decision for those seeking a healthier and more ethical option.

 1. Nutrient-Rich Goodness:
Grass-fed beef is a nutritional powerhouse, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and antioxidants. These elements promote heart health and overall well-being.

 2. Happy Animals, Happy
Environment: In contrast to traditional feedlots, grass-fed cattle roam freely, grazing on natural grass. This not only ensures the well-being of the animals but also contributes to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable farming approach.

 3. Environmentally Conscious
Eating: For those concerned about their ecological impact, grass-fed, grass-finished beef generally has lower greenhouse gas emissions. compared to grain-fed alternatives. This makes it a more eco-friendly choice for conscientious consumers.

For individuals looking for ethically raised beef, grass-fed and grass-finished
varieties are the way to go. With nutritional benefits, adherence to ethical
farming practices, and a positive impact on the environment, it's a choice that
aligns with both personal and global well-being.

Are your animals hormone free?

Commercial, intensively-farmed cattle are often implanted with a hormone chip. These hormones speed up growth, so that the animals are ready for market more quickly.

Our farm does not use hormones. Our cattle are 'slow-grown' and live a life as close to their natural state as possible.

Of, course, all animals generate their own natural hormones - these are the only hormone our herd has.

Do you use mRNA Vaccines?

There is a lot of hype in the media about mRNA Vaccines, particularly in the prevention of Foot & Mouth Disease. However, mRNA Vaccines are currently not approved for use in Australia.

So, no, our herd is not inoculated with any mRNA vaccines.

How do I order and pay?

The first step to placing an order is to select the size share of beast you want (QUARTER, HALF or WHOLE) from our online shop and add to your cart - this purchase is the DEPOSIT only and required to secure your grass-fed beef.

If you want any additional items, such as beef cheeks or liver, you can add these to you cart as well.

Once the DEPOSIT purchase is finalised, we will contact you to discuss delivery dates and locations when making our delivery run.

The final payment amount will depend on the weight of your particular beast.

Delivery is free to our delivery run areas.

The dressed weight will be confirmed one week out from delivery, and you will be emailed with an invoice at this time.

How does your pricing work?

The price of our beef is calculated on the dressed weight of the carcass.

The following dressed weight rates are used to calculate your final price:

  • Quarter Beast: $15.00/kg
  • Half Beast: $14.00/kg
  • Whole Beast: $13.00/kg

HOWEVER, since dressed weight means just about nothing to people who aren't cattle, sheep or pig farmers, here is what it means to you in 'meat in your box' prices.

Please note, all beasts differ, and this is an indication only. The prices below are the approximate costs based on a recently completed order of a dressed weight (whole beast) of ~240kg grass-fed beef.

QUARTER: $900 for 46kg of meat, cut, bagged, labelled, boxed and delivered.
This equates to $19.57/kg for all cuts. This does not include bones.

HALF: $1,680 for 93kg of meat, cut, bagged, labelled, boxed and delivered.
This equates to $18.06/kg for all cuts. This does not include bones.

WHOLE: $3120 for 185kg of meat, cut, bagged, labelled, boxed and delivered.
This equates to $16.86/kg for all cuts. This does not include bones.
